I have been thinking about love because my husband and I will celebrate ten years of marriage this December. We have not had a fairy tale marriage, but who has? My mental illness in the first years of our marriage, my husband's job struggles, financial stresses, some minor health issues... Let's just say ours has been a real marriage.
We attended a wedding last night. It was my husband's cousin's son. A young couple that we have had maybe ten words with over the course of their engagement. Early in the evening, they presented a slide show of the couple. Despite not knowing these young lovers very well, I was so happy to see the love in their eyes, in their body language.
And so, as I approach my tenth wedding anniversary, I invite you all to celebrate the loves in your life. No love is perfect - we are beautifully imperfect human beings loving each other in the best way we know how.
